Privacy Policy
QuantPod Technologies ("Company", "we", "our") is dedicated to protecting your financial and personal privacy through a sovereign, local-first software architecture.
QuantPod is client-side software that runs directly on your local hardware. We do not operate central cloud databases that store your brokerage API keys, account balances, orders, or trading activity. Your financial credentials never touch our servers.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
Because QuantPod runs locally on your PC, we never have access to, collect, or store:
- Your brokerage API keys, secrets, or OAuth refresh tokens.
- Your brokerage account balance, cash, equity, or buying power.
- Your open positions, fills, executions, or strategy parameters.
- Your personal bank account or identity documents.
2. Local Storage & Windows DPAPI Encryption
All sensitive configuration data entered into QuantPod (such as Alpaca API credentials) is encrypted at rest on your machine using the Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI) with hardware-bound keys. Only the authenticated Windows user account on that specific machine can decrypt this information.
Historical trade logs and performance metrics are stored strictly in a local SQLite database (trading_data.db) on your computer. You retain complete physical control and can delete this data at any time.
3. Information Collected for Licensing & Purchases
When you purchase a QuantPod license or activate the Software:
- Payment Processing: Commercial transactions are processed by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company). Lemon Squeezy collects your payment details and billing address subject to their privacy policy. QuantPod Technologies never sees or stores your full credit card number.
- License & DRM Verification: To enforce node-locking, QuantPod transmits your license key and a one-way hashed hardware identifier (HWID) to Lemon Squeezy's activation API. This identifier contains no personal information and cannot be reverse-engineered into device specifics.
4. Direct Communication with Brokerages (Alpaca)
When you enable trading or market data streaming in QuantPod, the Software initiates direct, outbound TLS 1.3 encrypted connections between your local machine and Alpaca's official endpoints (e.g., https://api.alpaca.markets and wss://stream.data.alpaca.markets). These communications travel directly between your internet connection and Alpaca Securities LLC, bypassing QuantPod Technologies entirely.
Your interaction with Alpaca is governed by Alpaca's Privacy Policy.
5. Website Analytics
Our website (quantpod.io) uses lightweight, privacy-friendly analytics. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or sell your browsing data to advertisers. Analytics are strictly aggregated to measure total visits, referrers, and download counts.
6. Your Rights & Data Deletion
Because all trade and configuration data resides locally on your PC, you can completely erase all application data at any time simply by uninstalling the application and deleting the local directory:
